Wayne Rooney is not at all happy with Cristiano Ronaldo’s attitude. The former Man Utd player believes that he has behaved “unacceptably” for someone of a team like Man Utd. He believes that if Ronaldo is not willing to work and be ready when Erik ten Hag deems inappropiate, he should step to one side and leave.

At Old Trafford they are not talking about anything else. Cristiano Ronaldo is on everyone’s lips and not precisely because he is scoring lots of goals for the team.

The Portuguese has defied Ten Hag at times. He has not been at all happy with the fact that the manager has left him on the bench and only brought him on for the final few minutes of matches.

Despite the fact Cristiano and the manager have now made peace (Ten Hag has even congratulated him on his work in defence), many have not forgiven the attacker for his bad attitude. Rooney, for example, believes he has behaved very badly.

“Cristiano, just get your head down and work and be ready to play when the manager needs you. If he does that, he will be an asset. If he doesn’t, it will become an unwanted distraction,” Rooney told ‘TalkSPORT’.

Rooney does not think United are better when the number 7 plays. “Are the team better with him on the pitch? No, I don’t think so,” he added.

And Rooney thinks that the club should take note of it. “I just think the things he has done from the start of the season, it is not acceptable for Manchester United. I’ve seen Roy Keane defending him. Roy wouldn’t accept that. Roy wouldn’t accept that at all.”

Lastly, the former Man Utd footballer praised Ten Hag. “He’s the right man for the job. I think it will take time but it’s a real step in the right direction to finish in that top four and get Champions League football again. For the first time in about two or three years I’m starting to see an identity with Manchester United which I haven’t seen,” he concluded.
